Acappella Visits Victoria Gardens of Frisco and Dallas Cowboy Drew Pearson

North Dallas Care Manager Hope Self visited Victoria Gardens of Frisco this fall for a Dallas Cowboys community service outreach celebration. Famed Cowboy Drew Pearson attended as well. Residents were delighted to see No. 88 and hear exciting stories from the gridiron. Everyone cheered for Pearson and the Cowboys!

The Dallas County Adult Protective Services Community Board hosted a Caregiver Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 3rd. Members of the Acappella staff were present to support two of our finest: Emma Locke and Tom Lves. Ms. Locke was named a Finalist in the Excellence in Professional Caregiving – In Home Care category; Tom Lves was named a RN finalist. Congratulations to Emma and Tom. The Dallas County APS Community Board is an organization that supports APS Caseworkers and staff, and their clients in 10 Dallas-area offices.  Funds raised through the Caregiver Appreciation Luncheon are used to support the Staff through continuing education, recognition and appreciation and resources.  Funds will also be used to stock the Silver Star Room with needed supplies such as box fans, space heaters, adult briefs and nutritional supplements.

Acappella’s senior leadership team attended the ​Dallas Area Gerontological Society’s 27th Annual Fall Forum in Dallas last month. DAGS is a non-profit, voluntary organization for people concerned for

and interested in aging issues.

 

Topics this fall included mental health, affordable senior housing, community resources for area seniors, and geriatric medicine.

 

Director of Nursing and owner Jo Alch said, “We’ve been attending the DAGS forums for many years now. What a resource it is! I learn something new at each event. It’s perfect for seniors and those who care for them.”

On Tuesday, October 11th, Client Care Manager Rev. Angela Stone-Campbell and Hope Self joined the Chamber of Commerce in honoring First Responders of Framers Branch. Speakers at the event included new Police Chief David Hale, Fire Chief Steve Parker, Farmers Branch City Officials, and staff from Baylor Scott and White and Dallas Medical.

Acappella’s 3rd Annual Pajama Drive, Oct – Dec 2016

Acappella In Home Care announces its 3rd Annual Pajama Drive. Last year, we distributed over 300 pairs of pajamas to needy seniors during the Holiday Season. Will you help us meet our 2016 holiday goals?

Business Conference on Friday, September 23rd. Conference. Attendees enjoyed a full day of enrichment, seminars, and a presentation of the Metrocrest Chamber Business Woman of the Year Award. Hope is pictured on the left with keynote speaker and author Dr. Stacey Radin.

The Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Forum Committee named Linda Rutherford, Southwest Airlines’ Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, as its 2016 Business Woman of the Year. The award, chosen from nominations received from Chamber members, honors one outstanding woman from the Metrocrest business community and is sponsored by Edward Jones, Sheryl Giles. The conference was presented by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Carrollton. As a Metrocrest member, Hope Self was pleased to be a part of the exciting event.
